The 26-acre
Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Water
Park marks the water park chain's third
Texas location. Schlitterbahn Galveston
Island Water Park is also among the
industry's first to include a
retractable roof, which allows the park
to remain open year-round.
Like the other Schlitterbahn parks, the
Galveston Island site is jam-packed with
an impressive variety of slides and
water rides, including a Master Blaster
uphill water coaster; the Boogie Bahn
simulated surfing attraction, and The
Torrent, a "tidal wave" river that's
anything but lazy. An innovative
“Transpotainment” system links many of
the outdoor attractions and allows
guests to ride a lazy river from one
ride to the next without having to
de-tube and wait in line.
